The course is set in beautiful Umbria landscape close to Trasimeno Lake.
You start with a simple par 4, after a well centralised tee shot to avoid the bunker on the right or the boundary on the left. Continue with a medium seven-iron towards the green. The green is protected by a bunker to the right and rough to the left. You need to use precision on the approach to avoid the small lake and the drop to the right.
This is a par 3 with an incline, you need a good stance to reach the green which is protected by a bunker and a constant head-wind. The boundary to the left and a water hole hamper those players with a high handicap.
The third hole is a right dogleg. For expert golfers it is an ideal opportunity for a birdie. The landing area is narrow and the green is protected by a bunker which catches anyone who isn't precise.
A gentle dogleg to the right, from the drive, the hole is protected on both sides by the boundary followed by a water hole and a bunker to the right. A second precise shot has to avoid the second fairway bunker to arrive comfortablly at the approach to the long green which is protected on the right. Par on this hole is something to boast about!
This is a long and narrow par 4 with a lake which runs along the left-hand side. On the second shot there are more hazards with a small stream in front and rough to the right. The hole is on an incline and you may need a shot or two extra on the approach to combat the frequent head-wind.
A long par 3, which may need a good three-wood to arrive at the green - depending on the wind. The hole is straight with a big green.
A right dogleg, with three bunkers on the right of the landing area penalises any shot that isn't straight. Also, the boundary on the right and the shape of the rough hampers the tee shot. There is difficulty, too, on the second shot with a stream in front, a narrow fairway which only opens up after 70m and a lake and a bunker on the right. The green is on an incline and is protected by a bunker to the right and a deep bunker to the left typical of Scottish links.
A short par 4 with a gentle dogleg to the left and the possibility of a birdie, but pay attention to the large area of rough on the left and the three small bunkers just before the green.
This is a short but difficult 4 par left dogleg, pay attention, when teeing off, to the four ponds and an area of rough just before the boundary. The fairway rewards the prudent as there are two bunkers on the left and right. If you want to go for a birdie, you need to shoot for the green with a precise shot passing through the rough, over the two ponds and two bunkers protecting the green.
