Da Clelia Food and Holidays

Da Clelia is a family-run business at Valsorda, in the heart of the Apennine Mountains near Gualdo Tadino in the North West of Umbria. It started as a meeting spot for loggers, hunters and mountain walkers and has expanded to become a mountain retreat including three chalets, camping site and top-class restaurant.

The three chalets nestle at 1000m above sea level in the mountains and are a perfect location for any nature lovers, whether you enjoy hiking, horse-riding or cycling. Amenities range from self-catering to all inclusive and all accommodations are fully equipped with crockery and cooking equipment. Each chalet has a large living room with a traditional Umbrian fireplace and have been carefully restored.

The restaurant at Da Clelia has recently been refurbished to a stunning standard. Here you can enjoy traditional dishes such as omelette with truffle and brustengo (a type of light bread) with ham and Umbrian sheep's cheese.

Valsorda Mountain is 1050m above sea level at its peak and affords the visitor some beautiful views across the north of Umbria, including the small town of Gualdo Tadino, and across the boarder into the Marche region. From here you can hunt for mushrooms including the elusive and expensive truffle and enjoy the nature and wildlife of the area including wild boar, Apennine wolves, foxes, martens, badgers and wild cats.
